Charlie Bell

For Payson Town Council

I was Born in Cambridge Mass and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin. I Served a 2-year mission in New Mexico after traveling in California in the 70’s. I Enlisted in the Air Force as a personal specialist and my first assignment was Kadena AFB Okinawa.

As a Personal Specialist we were liaisons between  geographically separated units and reserve units. We performed actions associated with management of the personnel data system and advised on career progression and administered performance reports, airman and officer promotion programs, retirement programs, discharges, and reenlistment.

I Separated in AZ 1986 with an Honorable discharge and joined the Air Force reserves as a personal specialist and discharged in 1988 with an Honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant E-5.

My former spouse and I started a residential cleaning business which grew into residential/commercial business.

After our divorce I returned to college and received a degree in Social Work and became a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse counselor and worked in Behavioral Health. I worked with those who were duly diagnosed with mental health and substance abuse issues.

During that time, I married my beautiful wife of 28 years. Together we raised 10 children. As a married couple we became foster parents and adopted two children and continue to foster adults. My wife and I have been fostering parents for the past 18 years.

9 years ago, in March I took a job with Southwest Behavioral health in Payson and my family moved up to Payson that May. Upon my retirement I became a substitute teacher at the Middle School and High School in Payson.

I’m running due to those few who serve the TOP in their sterile environment appear to feel that you, the residents, are incapable of making sound decisions for our town by passing their emergency Clause not once but three times. By passing the emergency clause they showed their arrogance and felt as a community you weren’t smart enough to make decisions

I’m counting on your realization that I Charlie Bell, am one who will bring positive change, I will keep my promise to serve you honestly and diligently. I will represent your values and work to bring about positive change. I hear your voice. Let me be your choice, vote for Charlie Bell.

Community engagement is the cornerstone of a thriving town. Payson’s strength lies in its people—their passion, ideas, and commitment to their community. Let’s empower residents to
actively participate in shaping the town’s future.

Community Forums and Town Halls:

  • Regularly host open forums where residents can express their opinions, ask questions, and propose solutions.

  • Town halls provide a platform for dialogue between citizens and local leaders. It’s essential to actively listen and consider community input.

Online Platforms and Surveys:

  • Utilize digital channels to gather feedback. Online surveys, social media polls, and community websites can help gauge public sentiment.

  • Encourage residents to share their thoughts on various topics, from infrastructure improvements to cultural events.

Voting and Referendums:

  • Empower citizens by ensuring transparent and accessible voting processes.

  • Referendums allow residents to directly influence decisions on critical issues. Their votes matter.

Task Forces and Committees:

  • Establish task forces composed of community members, experts, and officials.

  • These groups can focus on specific areas like safety, infrastructure, or cultural preservation.

Education and Awareness:

  • Educate residents about local governance, policies, and decision-making processes.

  • An informed community is an engaged community.

Collaboration with Local Organizations:

  • Partner with neighborhood associations, schools, and nonprofits.

  • Collective efforts strengthen community bonds and amplify voices.

Remember, Payson’s future is shaped by the collective will of its residents. By fostering a culture of participation, we can build a town that reflects everyone’s aspirations
